WATERBERG CAMP INFORMATION GUIDE Please make sure you visit our one-stop camp guide app and save it to your phone. The app includes information about directions, checking in and out, rules and safety, important contacts, activities on the farm, activities in the area, suggested restaurants, ordering meal baskets and more! 1. Open the following link: waterberg.africampsguide.com. 2. Follow the on-screen prompts to save the app to your phone’s home screen. If no prompts appear, visit your browser menu (Android) and select 'Add to Home Screen' or visit your share button (iOS) and select 'Add to Home Screen'. By doing so, you will have quick access to all the camp’s important information even if you are offline. No need to sign up and log in, simply open the link and save it to your phone. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/NgUmPmag8ne5dMLf9 DIRECTIONS: From Pretoria: - As you enter Vaalwater from Pretoria, turn right at the four-way stop on the main road toward Melkrivier. - Continue for 22 km and turn right toward Sterkstroom. This is a dirt road. - Continue for approximately 3 km and turn right at the AfriCamps Waterberg and Waterberg Cottages sign. - Continue on the long and sandy road for a further 3 km until you arrive at an AfriCamps sign and an electric gate. CHECKING IN Check-in: Between 14h00 and 17h00 on day of arrival. Late arrival strictly by prior arrangement. For check-in after 17h00 please contact your host at the camp to make arrangements. Please drive slowly on the municipal road leading up to the camp. The road can be sandy and is not suitable for low profile vehicles. Check-out: Before 10h00 on day of departure. We want your stay and check-in experience to be seamless and memorable. > Remember, your stay is self-catering so no food and beverages are included. > Optional 'cook-your-own' breakfast and braai baskets are available to pre-order via our app: waterberg.africampsguide.com. These can be collected at reception. Remember to place your order at least 24 hours in advance and we'll make sure you enjoy some delicious South African meals during your stay. > Travel tip: Bring along an additional cooler box, especially in the warmer months, when you are a full tent or you are staying for longer than a weekend. > Activities and tours Find out about possible tours and activities on our website or on the camp guide app: waterberg.africampsguide.com > Cleaning service and fresh towels We promise a sparkling clean tent, with fresh linen and towels, a clean fireplace and braai, fresh water in your hot tub, and a few essential amenities, ready on arrival. We also include a complimentary basic cleaning service for bookings of four nights or more. If you require any additional cleaning, a daily cleaning service is available at an additional cost - speak to your host to find out more. > Wood and firelighters Firewood and firelighters are available to purchase at the camp. Pick up a few bags for the indoor fireplace, braai, and outdoor wood-fired hot tub when checking in. Tip: On colder nights, the outdoor wood-fired hot tub needs more wood to reach the desired temperature. A crate or about two to three bags of wood will have you covered.
