Directions from Cape Town La Chataigne Wine Farm is situated about 70 km east of Cape Town and just 7 km from Franschhoek Village. Take the N1 to Paarl. After about 50km take Exit 47 (the Stellenbosch/Wellington /Klapmuts turnoff). At the STOP sign at the bottom of the off ramp (about 200m) turn RIGHT onto the R44, going under the N1. Continue about another 1km until you get to a 4-way STOP. Cross straight over the 4-way STOP and continue another +/- 500 meters and take the first road to the LEFT signposted Franschhoek R45. Continue along this road for about 10km until you get to a T-junction at Simondium. Turn RIGHT towards Franschhoek. This road is the R45 and takes you to Franschhoek. After about 15km you will pass Bridge House School and go over the Berg River Bridge. Continue another 1-2km, passing the Wellington / Berg River Dam crossing along the way, and then you will see a low white wall and a wine-farm (vignerons) sign saying "La Chataigne Wines" on your LEFT. YOU HAVE ARRIVED! This is where the wine-tasting room is located and where you can collect your keys to the cottage, taste our wines, and play a game of boule. We have a boule court behind the wine-tasting room.
