CAMP INFORMATION GUIDE Please make sure you visit our one-stop camp guide app and save it to your phone. The app includes information about directions, checking in and out, rules and safety, important contacts, activities on the farm, activities in the area, suggested restaurants, ordering meal baskets and more! 1. Open the following link: karoo1.africampsguide.com. 2. Follow the on-screen prompts to save the app to your phone’s home screen. If no prompts appear, visit your browser menu (Android) and select 'Add to Home Screen' or visit your share button (iOS) and select 'Add to Home Screen'. By doing so, you will have quick access to all the camp’s important information even if you are offline. No need to sign up and log in, simply open the link and save it to your phone. Google Maps location: https://g.page/Karoo1HotelVillage?share DIRECTIONS: Driving directions from Cape Town (N1 north): From Cape Town, head to the N1 which will lead straight to the farm’s entrance gate after 141 km. The N1 will take you through the Huguenot Tunnel where you will need to pay a toll fee. Once you reach Worcester, continue on the N1 for 23 km to reach De Doorns. From De Doorns continue another 27 km to the farm’s turnoff. You will spot the white entrance gate with AfriCamps signage just before the Montagu road sign. Continue straight on the gravel road until you reach reception at the hotel. Driving directions from Cape Town International Airport (N1 north via R300): Upon exiting the airport, keep left to merge onto Settlers Way/N2 via the ramp towards Somerset West. After about 3 km, take exit 22A towards R300/Belville. Drive for about 15.5 km and use any lane to merge onto N1 toward Paarl/Worcester. The N1 will lead straight to the farm’s entrance gate after 135 km. The N1 will take you through the Huguenot Tunnel where you will need to pay a toll fee. Once you reach Worcester, continue on the N1 for 23 km to reach De Doorns. From De Doorns continue another 27 km to the farm’s turnoff. You will spot the white entrance gate with AfriCamps signage just before the Montagu road sign. Continue straight on the gravel road until you reach reception at the hotel. Driving directions from Beaufort West (N1 south): From Beaufort West, continue on the N1/N12 for 300 km to the farm’s turnoff. To your right, you will spot the white entrance gate with AfriCamps signage just after the Montagu road sign. Continue straight on the gravel road until you reach reception at the hotel. CHECKING IN: Check in: Between 14:00 and 17:00 on day of arrival. Late arrival strictly by prior arrangement. For check-in after 17:00 please contact your host at the camp to make arrangements. Remember to place your order at least 24 hours in advance and we'll make sure you enjoy some delicious South African meals during your stay. > Travel Tip: Bring along an additional cooler box, especially in the warmer months, when you are a full tent or you are staying for longer than a weekend. > Activities & Tours Find out about possible tours and activities on our website or on the camp guide app: karoo1.africampsguide.com. > Cleaning service and fresh towels We promise a sparkling clean tent, with fresh linen and towels, a clean fireplace and braai, fresh water in your hot tub, and a few essential amenities, ready on arrival. We also include a complimentary basic cleaning service for bookings of four nights or more. If you require any additional cleaning, a daily cleaning service is available at an additional cost - speak to your host to find out more. > Wood and firelighters Firewood and firelighters are available to purchase at the camp. Pick up a few bags for the indoor fireplace, braai and outdoor wood-fired hot tub when checking in. Tip: On colder nights, the outdoor wood-fired hot tub needs more wood to reach the desired temperature. A crate or about 2-3 bags of wood will have you covered. > WiFi Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access, available in the tent.
